Building the Remote Classroom (A Teacher’s Perspective) with Marc Rudajev

"We've actually had an increased interaction with parents...sometimes the student will be in the (parents’) office and mom or dad pops in unintentionally because they need to pick up a book or a sheet of paper or some document and they'll say, 'Hi, Mr. Rudajev. How are you?”

With all of the focus on remote teaching and its applications on learning and social/emotional development, it is essential to hear from the teachers themselves. By listening to their experiences, we gain a sense of what it feels like to swiftly pivot from the brick and mortar classroom to the remote classroom. As expert high school teacher Marc Rudajev explains, this transition goes far beyond firing up the laptop and mimicking the traditional classroom experience.

After a 16 year career in London, Hong Kong, and Singapore as a trader and portfolio manager with Morgan Stanley, Mr. Marc Rudajev began his journey as an educator by returning to the US and matriculating at the University of Oregon. There, he obtained a Masters in Education and was licensed to teach Mathematics, French and English as a Secondary Language (ESOL) at the secondary level

Marc was born in NYC and spent his early childhood years in Florida before eventually moving to France and living there until graduating high school from Lycée Victor Duruy in Paris with a baccalaureate specializing in Maths and Sciences. He attended Georgetown University obtaining a B.S. with a major in Accounting and minor in Economics.
