When I'm feeling the most positive, and I think when my students are feeling the most positive, is when there's an unknown. There’s a mystery that we're seeking. So there's something drawing us forward. It’s leading us somewhere.”

Brian Wogensen, English teacher, has taught for the past 20 years at the Archer School for Girls in Los Angeles, California. He served as an upper school class dean for 6 years before taking on the role of English department chair. In addition to teaching, he is involved in curricular innovation and design and the school’s in-house professional development program. In partnership with a team of Archer seniors, he also helps facilitate Archer's annual interschool Literature &...
